Before you are given treatment you need to undergo various laboratory tests such as: culture and sensitivity test of the lesions, blood test to determine if you have HSV antibodies and direct fluorescent antibody test. Once the results of the tests are revealed then you are prescribed with medications. These medications are antiviral such as valacyclovir, acyclovir and famciclovir. There are also instances that you are not prescribed with medication if the infection is very mild.

In summation, herpes simplex is a condition that one should be careful. It can cause you to feel really uncomfortable mentally and physically. When you suspect that you have this condition or any person that you know, you should immediately go to the doctor to have this treated. If this condition is not treated immediately and accurately then this might cause you several problems in the long run.
